Several persons have been arrested at Marché Congo, a neighbourhood in Douala II Subdivision.
TWIF News sources in Douala say early Sunday morning, a joint contingent of Gerdams, Soldiers and Police invaded the area and arrested hundreds of inhabitants.
It is however unclear the motives behind this security action but many a Cameroonian suggests the move is to prepare grounds for a hitch free national day celebration across the region tomorrow May 20.
Some opposition political parties have declared their intentions to boycott the National Day Celebration, expected to be chaired by President Paul Biya in Yaounde.
Amongst the political parties are, The Social Democratic Front (SDF) and the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM).
